Adam Matthew Tveras

August 5, 1973 — December 4, 2025

Jacksonville, Florida

Born on August 5, 1973, with Lithuanian eyes so blue and crisp you had to turn up the temperature when he visited, Adam Tveras came into this world a thoughtful extrovert and artist, with an amazing eye for precision. He had a warm and genuine smile and a contagious, booming laugh that ensured that no one remained a stranger to him for long.

Adam attended St. Johns Country Day School in Orange Park, Florida, where he excelled in math, science, art, and making life-long friends. Although he always claimed he did not deserve it, Adam won the annual Art award his senior year, and his modesty was appreciated by the rest of the field, who knew that the award went to the right student. Many of Adam’s school and childhood friends remain his friends today, a testament to his good heart.

In high school, Adam bought a blue Fender Stratocaster, an instrument that would help launch a love of music and in particular the guitar that spanned Adam’s lifetime.

After graduating from St. Johns in 1991, Adam attended the University of Florida, where he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and received a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction. A panel of experts has determined that Adam had a very good time at university, and he added some important names to his list of true friends.

Adam was pulled away from the University of Florida by the international construction powerhouse, The Haskell Company. Haskell brought Adam to Miami to help build the iconic Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, which opened in 2006.

In 2004, while living in Miami, Adam fulfilled his true purpose in life, bringing his daughter, Olivia Tveras into the world - a star made into human form.

Adam moved back to the Jacksonville area and built his career in construction management with the firm of FaverGray, where he rose the executive ranks and traveled far and wide building unique multi-family and student housing developments.

Ever a lover of music, Adam was always ready for a good concert or music festival. Adam was a stellar guitar player, and he even experimented with his own compositions. He was an accomplished tennis player, a sport at which he excelled from the time he could tie his shoes. When not working or doting on Olivia, Adam could reliably be found relaxing with friends over a good meal or just chilling at the beach.

Adam passed away on December 4, 2025, due to complications from COVID-19 and pneumonia.

Adam is survived by a wealth of heartbroken souls: his daughter Olivia Tveras; parents, Sue and Gary Culton and Rimvydas and Laura Tveras; his great friend and former wife, Cheryl Tveras; his siblings, Aime Peterson, Caroline Tveras-Hedrick, Traci McCullough, Scott Fiset, and Julian Scott Blackwell, along with their spouses; his cherished nieces and nephews, Lilly and Luke Peterson, Will McCullough, Kelly and Sean Blackwell and Andrew Wrecsic and Samantha Herrera and his great niece, Rosalina. Adam was predeceased by his older brother, Andrew Tveras.

Adam touched many lives, with his love, friendship and devotion, and the world lost a touch of luster with his passing.
