Bruce E. Walter, 80, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease on June 4, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Following a final illness, he was surrounded by the love and presence of his family. Bruce was born in Buffalo, New York, on February 21, 1945. Bruce was raised in Buffalo and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1982.

Bruce enjoyed long trips on his motorcycle with family and friends. He was a member of the BMW Riders Association. He loved being a member of the Jax Woodworkers Club. He was always so proud at Christmas, handing out the toys he made for the children. He was recognized for helping the Sulzbacher Center with comment boxes at the Center through the Woodworkers Club.

Bruce had a variety of careers throughout his lifetime. He spent time in the Navy and worked for the Pensacola News Journal. However, he was most proud of his extensive career with Chevron Corporation, originally Standard Oil Company of California.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Walter, parents, Frank and Doris Walter of New York, and brother-in-law, Harold Schneck, of New York.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth L. Roscoe (Terry) of Jacksonville, Sons, Dennis Walter of Jacksonville, Ronald Lawson (Susan) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Grandchildren: Martin Busch, Brianne Lawson, Cassandra Lawson all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Great Grandchildren: Kristoffer Busch and Persephone Busch. Sisters: Sandra Hitchens (Doug) of Zephyrhills and Wendy Schneck of Fishkill, NY. Niece: Beverly Schneck of Fishkill, NY. Brother-in-Law, JD Jackson Jr (Carolyn) of Hosford and Sisters-in-Law: Carol White (Norman) and Alice Simpson of Clarksville.


Services will be held at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Services on June 17, 2025. The viewing will begin at 1:00PM with services to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to the Parkinson's Association or Give.TheFoundationCares.org (The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care) in Jacksonville, Florida.
