Carol Ann Moore Chicoski, 81, lovingly known among her family as Nana and the Matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was surrounded by family and the music she loved while holding the hands of her grandson, Dylan.

Nana was born on March 6, 1944, in Schenectady, New York. Her family moved south to Florida in the 1950s, settling in Jacksonville. Her greatest joys were simple, with a heart for her family and a love for all animals. Nana was also the biggest fan of Elvis Presley, Alan Jackson, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Florida Gators. A woman of strength, kindness, and wisdom, her love, patience, humor, and good advice left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.

Nana retired from the US Postal Service as a mail carrier out of the Mandarin branch. Many will remember her singing, "Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day," as she walked through the doors to start her workday. Nana

cherished her coworkers and counted them as lifelong friends. Though retired, she kept working alongside her husband, parents, and children, selling local produce at the St. Johns Flea Market. Upon its closing, they opened a shop on Shad Road where many will remember her kindness and generosity.

Nana was preceded in death by her parents, Stachia Mary (Sackett) and Archie Henry Moore Sr.; beloved husband, Raymond K. Chicoski Sr.; and brother, Archie Henry Moore Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Patty McCann (Sean), Chet Martin Jr. (Debbie), and Allen Martin; stepchildren, Tiffany Collins (Phil) and Kenny Chicoski Jr. (Leanne); and sister, Patti Ann Jordan (Kenny). She continues her legacy through her 7 grandchildren, with the firstborn carrying her mother's namesake, Stachia Carol Sutton (Luke); 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom will miss her dearly and cherish her memory forever.

As per Nana's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date where she will be laid to rest beside her parents and brother at Peoria Cemetery in Orange Park, Florida.

"The loveliest masterpiece of the Heart of God is the heart of a mother."
