In Loving Memory of
Crystal Marie Saunders
August 17, 1978 - July 26, 2025
Crystal Marie Saunders, age 46, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on July 26, 2025. Crystal was a woman whose life was defined by love, creativity, and resilience.
Born in Tampa, Florida, Crystal grew up surrounded by the warmth of her close Italian family. She cherished Sunday dinners with her Nana and Popa, moments that helped shape her lifelong love of family and tradition. In her youth, she was active and full of spirit, playing softball and cheering, all while learning the values of teamwork and determination.
Crystal carried those values into her adult life. She built a successful career in the contact center industry, serving in leadership roles at Home Depot, Medco, AT&T, Express Scripts, and most recently U.S. Bank, where she thrived as a Risk Manager. No matter where she worked, Crystal was admired for her dedication, work ethic, and the kindness she showed to those around her.
Beyond her career, Crystal had a true gift for creativity. She poured her entrepreneurial spirit into crafting—especially creating custom tumblers. Friends and family often came to her for t-shirts, logo designs, and personalized creations, and she found great joy in sharing her art with those she loved.
Though she never had children of her own, Crystal had a natural gift for caring for others—especially children—and was deeply loved by the many young lives she touched.
Crystal’s greatest role, however, was as a wife and caregiver. She spent over 20 years with her beloved husband, Robert, including 8 years of marriage. When Robert faced a rare medical condition, Crystal gave of herself fully, caring for him with the same strength, loyalty, and determination that defined every part of her life.
Crystal is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Scott, and her Nana. She is survived by her parents, John and Barbara Darby; her grandfather, Thomas Goldtrap Sr.; her husband, Robert Saunders; her brother, Glenn Stephey and his wife Kristina, along with their children Kaleb and Brianna; her many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her faithful dog, Zoey.
Crystal will be remembered for her boundless kindness, her creative spirit, and her deep devotion to family and friends. To know her was to be blessed by her love, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew her.
