Danny Johnson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Danny R. Johnson, 75, of Jacksonville Florida, who passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville.

A devoted husband and father Danny touched countless lives with his playful nature, humor, and antics. He found joy in entertaining and making others laugh. He leaves behind a legacy of involvement in the criminal justice field and law enforcement.

He began his criminal justice career after graduating from Florida State University in 1971 and continued his education throughout his professional career including graduating from the FBI National Academy and later in life securing a Doctoral Degree in Criminal Justice. After 20 years with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Danny retired as a Director for the Agency. He then concluded his professional career as a private investigator.

Funeral Services will be held on June 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM at Chets Creek Church, 4420 Hodges Bl. Jacksonville Fl 32224.

Surviving him are Lee Ellen (wife), Matthew (son) and Jeanie Johnson, Mark (son) and Lauren Johnson, Stacy Harnett(stepdaughter), Michael Wallace (stepson), Miguel Dominguez (son-n-law), Anissa Taylor Halstion, Sasha Wright, Luke and Harper Johnson, Micah and Eden Johnson, Dominic Dominguez, Brandon Eastman, Lily Mae and Emma Rose Smith, (grandchildren) and Zaiden and Zylo (great grandchildren). Brothers Stephen (Margaret) and Lars (Kathy) Johnson, sisters Cheryl Williams and Missy (Vincent) Leonard, 7 nieces, 3 nephews and other family members who will forever cherish the memories of his love and laughter. Preceded in death by Ralph Johnson(father), Louada Johnson (mother), Mindy Dominguez (daughter), Jacquelyn McCann (sister), Brad Davis (nephew) and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
