David Harold Rogers, 97 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, after a 4-month hospital/nursing home stay following a fall that broke his back and fractured several ribs. He was born on June 20,1929, to Harold C Rogers and Margaret (Murphy) Rogers in Jackson, MI.

He earned a bachelor’s degree and worked as a hospital laboratory technician as well as other roles within the medical profession. David was a 4-year Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.

He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and painting landscapes. He loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, and showed that love to anyone who needed encouragement, a helping hand or anything that would lift their spirits. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, off-the-wall sense of humor, sweet smile and soft voice. He will be missed by those he loved and those whose lives he touched.

David is survived by his wife of 49 years Gloria A Riendeau of Jacksonville, FL, his son John H Rogers and John’s wife Grace and their son Tony of Raleigh, NC, a sister-in-law Sylvia H Meister and her husband Paul of Jacksonville, FL, brother-in-law Roger Riendeau and his wife Sheila of Tiverton, RI, a Goddaughter Twila M Rhodes Church and her family of Jacksonville, FL, as well as several other nieces and nephews in the states of Washington, New York, South Carolina and Massachusetts.

He will be cremated with a Memorial Service to be decided at a later date.

Services are in the care of Naugle Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
