David Straub was born on April 12, 1942 in Darlington, Pennsylvania, to Marie and John Straub and passed away in peace on July 26, 2018, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dave grew up in Beaver County Pennsylvania and there he joined the Navy as an FTL Ensign, married, and had two children, Robin (who sadly predeceased him) and Renee. He later divorced and then, still in the Navy, was sent to Vietnam, and after he was stationed in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he met his future wife, Beryl Brewin Moore, and was a part of the Navy's Operation Deep Freeze, where he went to Antarctica. He then went back to New Zealand and married Beryl, then returned to the United States with his new wife and a ready-made family of three children, step-son Tracy and step-daughters Karen and Tina. Dave then finished a twenty-year Navy career as a recruit commander at Great Lake Navy Base, retired from the Navy, and moved to Florida with his family. In Florida he went to work at Naval Air Station Jacksonville as a Civil Servant and later retired again.
Dave will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family, especially by his wife, Beryl Straub, and all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister, Jeanne.
