Dorothy Knesley

Dorothy R (Perryman) Knesley, 88 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on July 14, 2025.

Dorothy was born in Greenland Michigan on October 1, 1936 to William and Ruth Perryman of Greenland Michigan.

She graduated from Greenland Township high school in 1953 and moved to Lake Forest, Illinois where she worked as a nanni in Highland Par Illinois. She was then hired by Illinois Bell as a phone operator. She married her husband Charles R Knesley in January 1956. Dorothy worked out of her home running Wiegold & Son Heating while raising 7 (seven) children. She also servedas an election judge in Lake County Illinois & Naples Florida. She retired and moved toNaple Florida in 1990. At the age of 67 she became a C.E.R.T. member with the North Naples Fire Department from 2003 to 2016.

She is survived by her children Charles J Knesley & Cindy S (Joe) Vignocchi of Jacksonville Florida, Joy M (Shawn) O'Grinc of Tucson, Arizona, Shirley L (Larry) Miller of Washington Island, Wisconsin, William W Knesley of Lake Bluff, Illinois & Scott T (Lori) Knesley of Vernon Hills, Illinois. 14 Grandchildren & 26 Great Grandchildren. Her brother's Harry Perryman of Richfield, Utah, William Perryman of Ontonogan Michigan and sisters Nancy Rizley of Pheonix Arizona, Audrey Tahtinen & Lois (Ray) Roney of Greenbay Wisconsin.

She is procedded in death by her husband Charles, her son Joseph (Ozone) Knesley, Parents William & Ruth Perryman, her brother Lawrence Perryman and her mother-in-law Mildred H Wiegold.
