Douglas Richard Weber

December 22, 1956 - January 24, 2026

Doug passed away on January 24, 2026, at home, after a short battle with aggressive bladder cancer. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Roberta L. (Parsons) Weber, and his two children, William Weber and Laurel Weber (Josh). He is also survived by his three siblings, John (Monica) Weber, Lisa (Mark) Rothrock, and Rick (Mar) Weber. He is preceded in death by his sister Susan Weber (Dave).

Doug's family was based in Janesville, Wisconsin. After his father, Richard Weber, and his mother Joan Fitzgerald were married, Richard entered the air force. Doug was born in Sacrament, California. After several moves, they finally settled in North Syracuse, New York. After graduating high school, he attended the State University of New York at Buffalo. After a few years there, he went to work for Guardian Automated Systems. The company moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He worked there for several years, along with a few years at Computer Science Corporation, and Provider Automated Systems. He spent the majority of his career working at Florida Blue, on their Medicare claims system ,and he retired from there.  

Doug was serious about his career, but being a father was the most important thing to him. He enjoyed going on family vacations, especially to the National Parks, bringing his family dogs along too. He spent many hours working on his projects, building computers, and 3-D printing. He also had a Chrysler Barracuda, which he was in the process of restoring. In later years he was a co-caregiver to his mother-in-law, Dorothy Parsons, who lived with him for five years. He also was an important person to his two brothers-n-law, Donald and Alan Parsons, both non-verbal, patiently learning how to communicate with them, He was also the only person able to convince his dog-person wife to get a cat!

Doug was a reader, and listened to music most of the time when he was home. In his last home he enjoyed getting out and maintaining the yard. Doug was smart, but he was also funny, and he never passed up the opportunity to make a witty barb to his mother-in-law.

Doug will be missed for his intelligence, humor, patience, love, and kindness.
