Elizabeth Register, born March 14, 1956, in Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by her husband and two daughters.

Elizabeth was a devoted homemaker who built a life centered on family, care, selflessness and love. She will be remembered for serving as a homeroom mom, driving children to school, telling jokes, sharing stories of family, and sharing her Southern cooking with those she loved, especially her potato salad, banana pudding, and lima beans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Esther Manning; her sister, Lenita Floyd; and her brother-in-law, Richard Floyd as well as her fur babies Fannie Mae, Maggie and Sadie.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Register, daughters, Kenya Register Cheesman (Gene) and Anna Register (Vance); and her grandson, Gaylin Dewberry, as well as her niece, nephew, cousins and friends.

The family would also like to recognize and thank the workers at Palm Gardens located at 5725 Spring Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32216. They were very kind in ensuring she received the best care possible. Her caregivers Monique and Jacqueline were kind and compassionate.

Strong, fierce, and faithful to her family, she was the anchor that held the family steady through rough storms. Elizabeth offered laughter, wisdom, honest answers and steady love to those around her. Her legacy will live on through her daughters and all who were blessed to know her.

A ceremony will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/Jacksonville.asp Guests are asked to wear red in Elizabeth’s honor. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
