Elwyn Harvey "Bubba" Ferguson Jr
Bubba passed from this life to his heavenly home Wednesday morning, November 16, 2022, at the age of 79. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, January 11, 1943 and was a graduate of Montverde Academy (near Orlando). He enlisted in the Air Force in 1962, during the Vietnam era, and achieved an Associate degree from Central Florida Jr College in 1967. Residing in Jacksonville, Virginia Beach, and Jacksonville Beach, he made many friends and acquaintances whom he kept throughout his life.
Bubba had many challenges, but had a passion for life. His faith was strong, he read his Bible every day, and God blessed him with a servant's heart, always helping others. He was intelligent and quick-witted and his work ethic was unsurpassed, but more than anything, he cared about his friends and family (as well as all the dogs he rescued over the years).
He enjoyed golf, deep-sea fishing, singing (to himself), and dancing (great Elvis' moves). He liked to talk about Apple computers, Nissan cars and God. He always asked for extra spicy sauce at restaurants, made the best funny faces and could barely get one of his famous jokes out before cracking himself up. He also made the best Bloody Mary anyone ever tasted.
Bubba suffered a stroke in December 2017, but fought hard for almost 5 years to overcome the disabilities associated with it, and never lost his sense of humor. Bubba is survived by his long-time trusted friend, Patricia Patti' Bates, his son, Jason, daughter, Lori Ann (and Margarita), grandchildren, Peyton, Maribella and Anabella, and his former wife, Sheila. He was predeceased by his father Elwyn H Ferguson Sr., mother, Mary Katherine [Dozier], sister, Anne Marie Bond Grove, and three brothers, Michael Dozier Mike', Robert David Dave' and Kenneth Wayne'. Bubba is deeply loved and greatly missed.
We are planning to celebrate his life in the near future and invite friends and family to share their own special memories of him.
