Evan William Peterson spent his life sharing his passion and creativity for just about everything he touched, from the banjo to unique lamps he built to his beautiful yard work and the care he showed others.
He was born on June 18, 1951, in Oswego, N.Y. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2026, at the age of 74.
Bill, as he was affectionately known by friends and family, graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1969. He dedicated much of his working career to Harry Pepper and Associates, where anyone he met valued his talent and work ethic.
Bill was a man of remarkable creativity and a natural talent for design. His home was a reflection of his imagination, filled with those one-of-a-kind lamps, with tables, framed objects and so much more. He had an eye for beauty in the everyday, turning the mundane into the extraordinary.
Music was another passion for Bill. He loved playing the banjo and would often play just for the joy of it.
In his younger days, Bill had a true sense of adventure. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, embarking on road trips to Daytona Beach, to Georgia, and to North Carolina. That adventure had a daring spirit, evident when he made the bold decision to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, an experience that perfectly captured his passion for living.
One of the many qualities that defined Bill was his devotion to others. He will be remembered for the tender and loving care he provided his mother during her final years, a testament to his character and commitment to those he loved.
Bill’s spirit for adventure, his talent to create and his endless care for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. While he may no longer be with us in person, his legacy of kindness, ingenuity, and joy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Phoebe Peterson. Bill is survived by his beloved son, Evan William Peterson Jr., his cherished grandson, Talon Peterson, his stepson, Zachary Richardson, his stepdaughter, Adrienne Ramirez, his brother, Eric J. Peterson, his sister, Corky (Mary) Peterson, and his former wife and dear friend, Trudy Peterson.
Rest in peace, Bill. You touched us all.
