"Janet “Jan” Lee Chesser, 60, of Jacksonville, FL formerly Columbus, MS passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021, with her daughter and sister by her side.
Jan was born in 1960 to Bill and Sara Blaylock. She and her family moved often growing up due to her dad’s Navy career. Jan had a life-long successful career helping and caring for others throughout her 40+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. She was always a hard worker and took pride in her possession.
In April of 1989, she married her husband, Dale, and later the lovely couple moved to Columbus, MS in 1995. They later adopted their beautiful daughter, Fu Jin, from China in November of 1999. Jan, Dale, and Fu Jin lived in Columbus, MS for many years and recently moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2020.
Jan balanced her time between her work in health care, her family, and her church. Jan’s love of animals often found her adopting dogs, cats, and even chickens giving them the best life possible. Jan was an avid reader and shared many synopses with her husband and daughter – one of their fondest memories that will be missed dearly.
Jan is survived by her husband – Dale Chesser Sr., daughter – Fu Jin Winter, son-in-law – Kody Winter, step-son – Dale Chesser Jr., sister – Tami Blaylock, and parents – Bill and Sara Blaylock.
Services will be private and held at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Cedar Hill Animal Sanctuary of Caledonia, MS – in her honor."
