John Stephen Knight

John Stephen Knight, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 peacefully in his home. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 2 1950 to John B. Knight and Mildred Knight.

He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas and then spent 22 years in the Navy aboard nuclear submarines achieving the rank of Senior Chief with multiple commendations. After retiring from the Navy he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Florida and worked as a Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer for the next 20 plus years.

John is preceded in death by his parents John B. Knight and Mildred Knight, his sister Debbie Parr, his son John W. Knight, his daughter Catherine Culbreth, and his wife Katherine Knight.

He is survived by his daughter Joan Knight, his grandchildren: Robert Culbreth, Heather Allen, Jason Culbreth, David Culbreth, D’aci Knight, and Gabrielle McDonald, and seven great grandchildren.

Services for John will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday May 30, 2026 at All Souls Anglican Church, 4042 Hartley Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
