Jonathan (Jason) Hollinger, 76, born September 11th, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, died at home in Jacksonville, Fl, on March 19th, 2023. Jason was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and an incredible musician. He was in many successful bands (Green Lyte Sunday, Giant, among others) in the Dayton, Ohio area. He was a renowned guitarist. The Green Lyte Sunday album is still being played in a few countries.

Jason loved cooking for his family. Scrambled eggs for Harriett every Saturday, chicken planks for the grandkids, chili, and mahi. He loved dogs, movies (his favorite was Ben Hur) Civil War history, gardening, bird watching, and chocolate, especially ovaltine. He greatly enjoyed teaching guitar to kids and adults. "But you need to practice." Jason practiced faithfully every day. "There is always room for improvement." He taught the easy E to his therapist two days before he died. He had a great sense of humor and his stories about life as a traveling musician were hilarious.

Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ann Hollinger, father, Ken Hollinger, Aunt Sissy, and brother, Nate Hollinger. He is survived by his devoted wife, Harriett, his son, Kenny, daughters Kelly, Erisa, Melody, Rachel, and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and brother Nate's family, Stacy and her three children.

Jason's passing is a great loss to all of us. He was a kind and compassionate person. He was a spiritual person and believed everyone had a right to their own beliefs as long as their beliefs did not hurt others. We know he is in the hereafter playing pinochle with his family and jamming with his former bandmates. We miss him.

There will be a gathering in Jason's honor at Harp's in Jacksonville on May 22nd at 2pm. This would have been Jason and Harriett's 25th anniversary.
