Jonathan Ambrose Key, 46, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born November 28, 1974 in Lakewood, New Jersey. The fourth child of seven, and second son of Barbara Louise Perry Key and Jimmy Key. 6:17 a.m. Thursday November 28, 1974 at Paul Kimball Hospital the world was blessed with an 8 pound 15 ounce gift from God. His name describes who he was and will forever be to us all. Jonathan, "God has given." Ambrose, "the immortal one." He truly was an angel given to us that will be in our hearts eternally.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Louise Perry Key and brother-in-law, Raymond Rowles Jr. Jonathan is survived by his father, Jimmy Key, his brothers and sisters, Felicia D. Rawles of Marietta, GA, Erika D. Key of Tampa, FL, Justin A. Z (Kay Z) of Toms River, NJ, Jocelyn E. Nelson (Patrick C. Nelson) of Atlanta, GA, Adrienne A. Key of Jacksonville, FL, Alexander S. Key of Atlanta, GA, Joshua Rowson of Somerset, NJ, and a number of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and Niece.
God: Speaks with his angels about one of his children.
God: "It is time for one of my children to return to me."
Angel 1: Who is this you speak of father?
God: "Jonathan Ambrose Key"
Angel 2: "I have been watching him. He has been a great son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend. He always lights the faces around him with smiles and fills hearts with love and joy."
Angel 1: "Yes, I too have been watching him. He is very artistic and creative. In his life, he has written songs that were truly before his time and is yet to be discovered by the world. He has been blessed to travel places some will never go. And, he has brought love into people's hearts that never would have been, if not for him�which is priceless."
Angel 2: "Father, he is only 46 with so much life ahead of him. Are you sure it is his time?"
God: "I am never early, and never late. I am always on time."
Jesus: "It is August 4, 2021. Angels go hence and bring forth my brother to me. I will welcome him at the Gates of Heaven."
Angel 1: "Thy will be done Lord."
[Moments later]
Angels 1 and 2: "This is Jesus before you Jonathan Ambrose Key."
Jesus: "No one knows the hardships and burdens you endured. You embarked upon many journeys. The joy, the pain, the sunshine, the rain. You were always strong and persevered through it all. Do you know who I am?
Jonathan: "You're Jesus. This is Heaven. Let my family know I'm home."
