Karoline Probus

Karoline Probus, also known as Karol, or Lia to family and close friends, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 25, 2026 at the age of 94 in Jacksonville, Florida. Karoline was born April 16, 1932 in Rechnitz, Burgenland, Austria and immigrated to Ontario, Canada with her soon-to-be husband right after the World War 2, where they married September 3, 1954. In the early 1960s, they moved to New Brunswick, NJ, and proudly went through the process to become U.S. citizens.

During this time, Karoline studied and received her Cosmetology license, where she worked as a beautician until her retirement in the early 1990s, although she never really stopped working. She worked in several beauty salons over the years, starting in East Brunswick, NJ, then in Princeton, NJ, and lastly in Newtown, PA. The most memorable salon customer she ever had the honor of working on was Lauren Bacall when she worked in Princeton, NJ.

Throughout her life, Karoline enjoyed traveling, skiing, hiking, swimming, bicycling, gardening, cooking and playing golf. She had endless energy and always kept herself busy. She was a fierce animal lover, and poured her heart and soul into her precious fur children Lulu, Tina, and Sasha.

Karoline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Probus, her sister Maria "Mitzi" Strohmann, and her brother Hans Schwarz, the latter two from her hometown in Rechnitz, Austria.

Karoline is survived by her daughter, Sabrina "Bree" Weasner, her grandsons Christopher and Robert Weasner, her granddaughter, Morgan Prive, and several nieces and nephews and their families in Austria and Canada. Karoline was affectionately known as Omi to her grandchildren and Mutti to her daughter.

May she finally rest in peace after a full and wonderful life!
