Karoline Probus

Karoline Probus, also known as Karol or Lia to family and close friends, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, April 25, 2026 at the age of 94 in Jacksonville, Florida. Karoline was born April 16, 1932 in Rechnitz, Burgenland, Austria and immigrated to Ontario, Canada with her soon-to-be husband right after the war, where they married September 3, 1954. In the early 1960's, they moved to New Brunswick, NJ, and proudly went through the process to become a U.S. citizen.

During this time, Karoline studied and received her Cosmetology license, where she worked as a beautician until her retirement in the 1990's. She worked in several beauty salons over the years, starting in East Brunswick, NJ, then in Princeton, NJ and lastly in Newtown, PA. The most memorable salon customer she had the honor of working on was Lauren Bacall when she worked in Princeton, NJ.

Throughout her life, Karoline enjoyed traveling, bicycling, gardening and playing golf. She was a fierce animal lover, and poured her heart and love into her precious fur children Lulu, Tina and Sasha.

Karoline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Probus, her sister Maria "Mitzi" Strohmann, her brother Hans Schwarz, and their mother, Francesca Ott.

Karoline is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Weasner, her grandsons Christopher and Robert Weasner, her grandaughter, Morgan Prive, and several nieces and newphews and their families.
