On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Kenneth Theodore Van Landingham, Sr., beloved husband and father of three children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, passed away at the age of 89.

Ken was born on July 12, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Arthur and Oreda (Clance) Van Landingham. He attended Robert E. Lee High School, where he played both football and basketball. After graduating, he attended University of Florida for a year and was a member of the freshman football team. Following UF he attended South Georgia College, where he played football under the late Bobby Bowden during Bobby's first head coaching position.

After his time at South Georgia, Ken served two years in the United States Army where he served his time in Germany. Once back home he met Barbara Jean Corbett, and they were married on November 30, 1963. He later graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in accounting and earned his certification as a Certified Public Accountant.

Ken worked for many years as a CPA while raising his three children: Kenneth, Susan, and Keith. He coached youth baseball and softball and was very active in the YMCA's Indian Guides/Princess program, where he served as chief for a time. He loved taking his family to the lake each summer and was a devoted elder at Lakewood Presbyterian Church. Ken enjoyed reminiscing about his days at Lee High School and his time in the Army. Above all, he loved his family deeply and was proud of all their accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his wife, Barbara; his brother, Weldon; and his son, Keith.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth, Jr. (Monica); his daughter, Susan (William); his daughter-in-law, Ashley; his brother, Ray (Linda); his nine grandchildren-Jacob, Maxwell, Jameson, Samantha, Julia, Nolan, Zachary, Riley, and Taylor-and his brand-new great-grandchild, Theodore.
