Leasil Joleene Gay, beloved mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, daughter, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2021 in Orange Park, Florida at 47 years of age.
“She lit up every room.”
Leasil was born December 28, 1973 in Jacksonville to Janet Harris Gay and JW Bill Gay.
She was the middle of three children and devoted sister to JJ Gay Barber and Jessica Gay.
Leasil attended Riverside Presbyterian Day School, Fishweir Elementary, Suwanee Middle School, Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, St. Johns Day School, University of South Florida, and Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Leasil enjoyed a career in all aspects of the real estate and mortgage industries. She also loved her time as a Senior Care Advisor for CarePatrol. However, her most important job was mother to two wonderful daughters, Morgan Ashley Gay Wegner and Anna Elizabeth Councilman. They were the light of her life and her most cherished accomplishment.
A longtime and active member of The Church of Eleven22 in Jacksonville. Leasil also enjoyed spending time with her partner Robert Williams, dog Zoey, family and friends.
An adventurous soul
Throughout her life, Leasil loved to accept every adventure and challenge every rule. She was known for her infectious laugh and beautiful red hair. She lived every day as if it were her last.
She was predeceased in death by her mother Janet Harris Gay, grandparents Winton & Emily Harris of Screven, GA, WW & Eloise Gay, and godmother and aunt Joy Gay Jones.
She is survived by her daughters Morgan Wegner (Ryan) and Anna Councilman, sisters JJ Barber (Mike) and Jessica Gay, niece Kyleigh Barber, nephews Bonnar Barber and Kaedyn Gay, partner Robert Williams, father JW Bill Gay, beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to thank MD Anderson and Haven Hospice Custead Care Center for their outstanding care.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Haven Hospice or Eleven22 in Leasil’s loving memory.
