Linda Ponder

Linda Ponder, beloved mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2026.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Linda was the youngest of nine children. She was a longtime resident of Orlando, Florida, before moving to Jacksonville in 2013 to be closer to her son and granddaughter.

Linda married William D. Ponder in 1972 and devoted herself to her family as a full-time homemaker after the birth of their son, Jason, in 1975. A woman of deep faith, she was actively involved in church outreach. Later in life, she courageously survived breast cancer and discovered a renewed joy in her role as a grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 2014; her parents; and seven of her siblings. She is survived by her sister, Betty Jean; her son, Jason; her daughter-in-law, Joy; and her grandchildren, Carley, Virginia, and Vanessa.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
