It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lloyd Kevin Kipf 'Kipper', who departed this life on June 12, 2026, in Jacksonville, FL. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, willingness to help others and jovial spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Lloyd was born June 13, 1947, in Miles City, MT, where he lived with his parents and siblings on the family’s ranch. Lloyd moved to Dodson, MT to attend Dodson High School, graduating in 1965.
He enlisted in the Army, March 9, 1966, and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. During this time, he was awarded the following: expert marksmanship with the M-14 rifle, The Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, The Air Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged March 7, 1969, in Ft. Stewart, GA with the rank Army Specialist.
After his military career, Lloyd travelled with the Charlie Daniels Band as a member of the band’s road crew before he began working as a Yardmaster for CSX. After retirement from CSX, he settled on the Ogeechee River in Savannah, GA. Kipper was a steadfast and beloved member of the community. He found his greatest joys in simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the water, fishing with family and friends, where appreciation for nature brought him peace. He spent the last year of his life living with his daughter and grandson in Jacksonville, FL cherishing his time with them. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends. His sense of humor, and unconditional love provided comfort to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in his loved ones and the memories they created together.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Frances Kipf, and grandson Mason, Jacksonville, FL; former spouse, Pamela Bodyford Kipf, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Larry (Merry) Kipf, Fallon, MT; sisters, Kathleen (Charley) Bumgardner, Miles City, MT, Karlys (Corky) Irion, Cave Creek, AZ, Lois Kipf, New Underwood, SD; Aunt, Gloria Bruce, Wichita, KS; sisters-in-law, Terry Kipf, Harlowton, MT; Patsy (Johnny) Hutcheson, Savannah, GA.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd ‘Bob’ Kipf and Dorothy ‘Dolly’ Danniel Kipf; grandparents, Hugo and Mary Kipf; grandmother, Frances E. Danniel; brothers, Kendrick Kipf and Kelsey Kipf; mother and father-in-law, Randall Bodyford and Billie Jean Stephens Bodyford; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Bodyford King and Michael King.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived.
Jacksonville National Cemetery
Family and friends will park in cortege lane #1 to await an escort to the committal shelter by cemetery staff.
