Marjorie Theressa Winslow Wheeler, 82, the widow of Rolla Vensel “RV” Wheeler, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Wheeler was born the daughter of Walter Arthur Winslow Sr. and Juanita Smith Winslow on January 4, 1943, in Jacksonville, Fl. After graduating from Dupont High School, completed a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from the University of Florida. As a passionate teacher, she touched hundreds of lives as a teacher in Jackson County, Florida and Georgetown County, SC. In 2001, she retired from the Georgetown County School District where she had taught English at the Beck and Georgetown Middle School. As a devoted Presbyterian, her Christian faith was a vital part of her life, and since moving to Georgetown has over the years served as a member the Georgetown Presbyterian Church. It can truly be said she was a true epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman—clothed with strength and dignity, faithful in word and deed. As a devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving grandmother, wise teacher, and loyal friend, she lived a life of quiet discipline and selfless love. She spoke with wisdom, led with grace, and served her family and community with unwavering dedication. Her hands worked tirelessly, her heart gave freely, and her faith never wavered. Her children rise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but she surpassed them all. A woman who feared the Lord—she is to be praised.
Tess married the love of her life, RV, on June 27, 1966, and celebrated 57 years together. Their home was blessed with two children, Michael Charles Wheeler (April) and Brian Winslow Wheeler; and three grandchildren, Jayson Wheeler, Sarah Wheeler, and Walter “Walt” Wheeler.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, RV; and a brother, Walter Arthur Winslow, Jr.
