“May the road rise up to meet him, may the wind be always at his back, and until we meet again, may God hold him in the palm of His hand.”— Traditional Irish Blessing
Mark Santo Fraley Jr., known to most as “MJ,” of Jacksonville, tragically passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Born in Jacksonville on June 13, 2006, MJ was taken from his family and friends far too soon, leaving behind hearts forever changed by his loss.
MJ was a friendly, loving, and caring young man whose smile, humor, and kind spirit made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He had a deep love for sports, especially basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Chicago Bulls and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also loved working on cars, a passion he shared with his paternal grandfather — time and memories that became especially meaningful to him. Over the years MJ found joy in building with legos, playing video games late into the night, time on the water fishing, and anime.
As the child of a military family, MJ experienced life in many places, including Topsham, ME. and Newport News, VA., before returning to his birthplace of Jacksonville, where he spent most of his life and built many cherished friendships and memories. MJ attended Terry Parker High School and was incredibly gifted and in the Advanced Placement courses, however traditional classroom learning was never truly his passion, as he was naturally drawn to hands-on projects and practical work. He later chose to leave school to pursue landscaping, while also planning to continue his education and work toward his future goals.
MJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Brian Morgan; his grandmother, Beverly Morgan; and his paternal grandfather Frederick Nardi.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by his parents, Tara Fraley and her partner, Chris Moss, and Mark Fraley and his wife, Stephanie Fraley; his brothers, Grayson and Connor Fraley, and John, Thompson, and Joshua Buck; his maternal grandmother, Betty Morgan; his paternal grandmother, Karen Rehmer; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
Family and friends will gather to honor MJ and share cherished memories on Friday, May 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Naugle Funeral Home.
