Maurice Allan "Moe" Rowell, Sr., age 42, peacefully transitioned on June 4, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on September 13, 1982, in Detroit, Michigan, Maurice lived a life marked by love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
A proud attendee of Langston University, Maurice valued education as a cornerstone of personal growth. His entrepreneurial spirit came to full bloom in 2019 when he founded True Kare Products LLC. Through this venture, he demonstrated not only his commitment to excellence but also his deep desire to provide for those he loved. His work was more than a business-it was an extension of his heart and vision.
Maurice's greatest joy came from being with his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carmallitta Rowell; his children Maurice Rowell Jr., Devin Rowell, and Cam'ron Rowell; and his sister Brittany Watt. He also leaves behind his cherished nephew Marlo Carter; aunt Dell Watt; Marilee Johnson Salter; uncle Jack Jones and wife Kim Jones; sister-in-law Kelease Davis; brother-in-law Phil Davis Jr., his wife Kelly and their five sons and grand nephews; mother-in-law Wanda Finley Thomas; and extended family Ava Finley Jacques, Jennie Hardridge Finley, Rozena Finley Currin, and Carla Finley Harris.
He now joins in eternal rest his beloved father Theodore Watt; mother Gloria Watt; grandmother Wille Mae Watt; grandfather Roscoe Watt Sr.; grandmother Ida Bell Rowell; grandfather Lewis Johnson; and his young angel son Amir Rowell.
Maurice found joy in the simple pleasures of life-tending to his garden, playing video games, watching basketball and football, gardening under the sun, creating music and beats that echoed with soul, thrifting for hidden treasures and collectables, and shooting pool at the Butterfly with his best friend. His infectious laugh and smile could light up any room. He was loving and protective-a gentle giant whose presence brought comfort to those around him.
In his final moments, Maurice was surrounded by a peaceful grace that mirrored the quiet strength he carried throughout life. His transition was gentle and silent-an embrace by angels who welcomed him home with the same love he gave so freely to others.
We invite all who were touched by Maurice's light to join the Rowell/Watt family in fellowship and remembrance. Let us honor the music of his life, the strength of his love, and the kindness of his heart. His was a life of purpose, faith, laughter, and service-a life that will forever sing in the hearts of those who knew him.
May Maurice's memory bring comfort to all who carry him in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be held on June 27, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Naugle Funeral Home and Cremations 1203 Hendricks Ave
