Phyllis Holcomb, 80, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Xenia, Ohio on June 18, 1944, one of seven children born to June (Frazier) and Carsie Clayton Sexton.

Phyllis' first child, Misty Kay Rockhold, was born in 1969. Her second child, Donald Alan Rockhold, was born in 1970. Soon after they moved to Jacksonville, Florida where Phyllis resided for the majority of the rest of her life.

She spent most of her working years in retail, providing for her family and making friends every place she worked. Home life centered around the neighborhood and school kids, being a hub of entertainment and fellowship. Despite becoming an amputee in 2009, she persevered in typical Phyllis fashion and made the most of things. She learned how to walk with a prosthetic leg and became very active with Brooks Rehabilitation, eventually becoming a peer mentor to help new amputees. She spent her time bowling, playing billiards, and doing yoga. She also participated in water skiing, surfing, and kayaking. She volunteered for many events including the annual fundraising soiree, Christmas talent show, and adaptive rugby, even being awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2017.

She treasured family time whether in Jacksonville or in Ohio with her loved ones. She was a proud owner of a Disney annual pass and loved nothing more than her multiple trips to the parks with family and friends each year.

Phyllis, affectionately known as Tuddis by her family, is preceded in death by her daughter, Misty Kay; her parents, Clayton and June Sexton; her sister, Virginia "Jenny" Cornetet; and her brothers, Clayton Dean "Dink" Sexton and Maynard "Bub" Sexton.

She is survived by her son, Donald Rockhold (Stephanie Lachowicz); two granddaughters, Sara Rockhold and Emily Rockhold; three siblings, Donald (Lavern) Sexton of Xenia, Sue Martz of Xenia, and Elizabeth Kay Begley of Xenia; as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and her beloved granddog, Kierkee.
