Ricki A. Thomas, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away at the age of 63, on November 12, 2025, at his home from complications of cancer.
On December 12, 2025, Rick’s life was celebrated with friends in Jacksonville, FL.
Rick will be inurned, next to his Mom and Dad, at Fairview Cemetery in Northville, SD in the summer.
He was born on February 20, 1962, in Aberdeen SD, to James and Barbara Thomas.
He graduated high school in1980 from Aberdeen Central HS. While attending high school, he worked with his uncle in construction during the summers.
Rick joined the US Navy on September 21, 1980. He spent most of his enlistment stationed on NAS Jacksonville. He separated from the US Navy, with an honorable discharge, on September 20, 1984. He made his residence in Jacksonville, FL upon separation.
Rick worked for Graybar, Inc., Prudential Insurance, and Horizon Reality, while living in Jacksonville.
He liked playing games (Monopoly he’d always win), playing bingo, and entering or calling-into contests. He was a pro dialing numbers on the old rotary phones.
Vacation for Rick, was coming home to Aberdeen and relaxing on the couch, seeing his nieces and nephews, and eating some home cooked meals.
He really liked Mom’s “Special-K" bars and could easily eat a pound of bacon, which she always made for him when he was home.
Rick was calm, laid back, and a good person.
He was meticulous about his home and his paperwork.
Grateful to be part of Rick's life are his siblings: Kim (Greg) Kirnan, Kevin Thomas, Brian (Adriana) Thomas; Nieces/Nephews: John Kirnan, Jennifer (Travis) Feltman, Tabitha Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Raquelle (Kirk) Rizer, and Zachary Maa.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara and his nephew, Andrew Thomas.
