Robert (Bob) Michael Wojcik of Jacksonville, Florida – treasured father, husband, son, brother, colleague and friend – passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 after a brief illness. He was 54.
Bob was the proverbial rock in many a relationship, organization, and workplace – honest, dependable, and always with an eye toward solving problems and helping other people.
He was the youngest of five children, born in Buffalo, New York on May 23, 1972 to Walter and Nancy Wojcik. Bob spent his childhood and early college days there, graduating from Saint Francis High School and earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Buffalo State College. His post-graduate studies led him to the University of South Carolina, where he earned his Master of Science in Geology and developed a passion for teaching and mentoring others.
In 1998, Bob made the move to Jacksonville to begin his career as an environmental consultant at a global firm with offices in the city. Several years later, he met his wife Jacquie at the former Art Bar in Jacksonville, where they discovered a shared affection for quality beer and what Bob would call “normal” music. They married in 2007 in St. Augustine, Florida. In 2012, Bob and Jacquie welcomed their first and only child, Mikey.
Bob would spend almost 25 years at his original employer before going to work for a former client, JM Family Enterprises. He served as Environmental Lead there until spring 2026.
Bob excelled at pretty much everything he felt like trying, including but not limited to brewing beer and cider, cycling (and getting other people to cycle), skateboarding, bird identification, landscaping, baking, building things, hosting friends and family, and taking care of business in general. His true talents, however, rested in his willingness to show up for his family and friends over and over again.
A fiercely devoted, protective, and proud father and husband, Bob was active on the board of St. Paul’s Catholic School in Riverside. He was honored to judge the science fair more than once – a fact that will surprise no one who knew him. He always made sure the gutters were clean, the gas tank was full, the key lime pie was just right, his friends knew they were loved, and that his family was happy.
He’s preceded in death by his father, Walter Wojcik, and is survived by many: his wife, Jacqueline, child Mikey, Mother Nancy, Brothers James, David, and William, sister Janet, and many more nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Services for Bob will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida.
