Ron Medico, 71, passed away April 12th, 2018 after suffering a heart attack in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Detroit, MI February 28th, 1947. After graduating from Wayne State University (bachelors in fine arts) and The London Film School he moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1975 to begin his career as a film and television editor. He accumulated a huge body of work.

Ron was a prolific and sought after editor known for his masterful skills in storytelling and cutting documentaries. Among his critically acclaimed work is the Emmy-winning documentary "America Remembers John F. Kennedy"; "Years of Danger, Years of Hope"; "A Day in their Lives: Ironworkers" (Gabriel Award); "It's Burlesque" and "This is Our Home, It is Not for Sale".

Ron's credits in film and television include, "The Lady in Red", "Alligator", "Unsolved Mysteries", "Renovation Nation", "Mystery ER", "Totally Wild", 'Got Home Alive", "Amazing Animals", "Tiger Man of Africa", "Blood Dolphins", and the PBS series "American Playhouse" and many others.

Ron retired and moved with his partner, Kevin, to Jacksonville, FL in 2013 where he hoped to pursue watercolor, consulting with documentary film makers, gardening, and collecting for his new home. These hopes were challenged by long term debilitating neck and back pain.

Ron will be remembered as a humble, gifted, sensitive craftsman often carrying the load and leaving the credit for others. He will also be remembered for his low key, under spoken, witty sense of humor, and as a gracious, benevolent, caring soul.

He is survived by his spouse, Kevin Cooke, of Jacksonville FL, sister Vivian Bardel of Tucson, AR, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
