Ronald I Williams, better known as "Ron," was a man of boundless faith, infectious laughter, and legendary flavors, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy as rich as his famous home-cooked meals.

Born on July 15, 1953, in Chicago, IL, Ron was a pillar of strength for those around him. He didn't just read the Word; he continuously endeavored to live by it. He spent his time reading Bible scripture, finding the quiet wisdom he would later share with other veterans who had similar experiences. His compassion was most evident in his commitment to visiting the sick and shut-ins, ensuring that no one in his circle ever felt forgotten or alone.

A natural encourager, Ron had an unspoken passion for writing self-motivating literature. He believed in the power of the human spirit and dedicated countless hours to penning words for his autobiography, aiming to inspire others to practice self-forgiveness and to reach their full potential. When he wasn't writing the future, he was watching it-an avid fan of science fiction movies, he was always fascinated by the "infinite possibilities" of the universe.

To know Ron was to laugh. He possessed a rare gift for making others laugh, often using his quick wit to brighten the darkest of rooms. However, his most notable "ministry" happened in the kitchen. Ron was a master cook, and his food was more than sustenance-it was an expression of love. Whether you came for the jokes or the advice, you always stayed for the plate.

As a proud Marine, who enlisted on February 8, 1971, and served until March 17, 1975, Ron was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnamese Service Medal for his bravery during the Vietnam War. His service and commitment to his country were a testament to the dedication he carried throughout all facets of his life.

Ron leaves behind his children: daughter Contessa Williams, daughter Asia Williams, son Ronald Williams Jr., son Thomas Williams, son Baron Williams, daughter Nitara Williams, daughter Jasmine Williams, 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ron is survived by his siblings: brother Carl Williams, sister Sylvia Hart, brother Michael Williams, brother Darryl Williams, sisters Marsha Williams, and half-sisters Phyllis McCraven, and Cheryl McCraven. He is predeceased by his brother Calvin Williams and sisters Janice Williams, Hilda Romero, and Nancy Williams.

In celebration of Ron's remarkable journey and the love he shared, the family will announce the details of a memorial service where friends, family, and all who knew him can come together to honor and celebrate his legacy.
