Roslyn Bullard Volpe, 64, passed away on August 11 from complications of kidney disease,
which she fought valiantly for four years.

Roslyn was predeceased by her daughter, Roslyn Henderson; her parents, Ray and Clelia
Bullard; her sister, Molly McRae; her brother-in-law, Rick Pease; her mother-in-law, Pat Volpe;
and two nephews, Charles Volpe and Derek Volpe.

She is survived by her husband of almost 31 years, Tim Volpe, and three children: Kaye
Henderson Stegink (Tim) and their sons, Blanton and Bishop, of Jacksonville; Leigh Volpe
Stroud (DC) of Fernandina Beach; Joshua Volpe (Tara) and their sons, Ryker and Keller, of
Jacksonville; two sisters: Clelia Davis of Fernandina Beach and Britt Pease of Rincon, GA; three
in-laws: Chuck Volpe (Alli) of Jacksonville; Patty Volpe Garrison (Gwan) of Jacksonville; Sebby
Volpe (Stacy) of Gainesville; and an aunt, Kathy Ames (Mark) of Mamaronek, NY. She also had
numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she remained close to during her life.

Roslyn, the youngest of the four Bullard sisters, was born on December 29, 1959, in
Wilmington, NC. The family moved to Jacksonville in the summer of 1960 when Atlantic
Coastline Railroad (now CSX) relocated its headquarters. She grew up in Avondale, graduated
from Robert E. Lee High School in 1977, and later earned an Associate of Arts degree from
Florida Community College at Jacksonville.

Roslyn was active in her children's schools, a book club, and a garden circle, but her first loves
were tennis and being on the water. She began playing tennis as a teenager and was a natural.
As an adult, she played on the "A" Teams for both Florida Yacht Club and Timuquana Country
Club, and won numerous trophies and tournaments. She was in high demand as a partner
because she was not only athletic, talented, and competitive, but also gracious and engaging. If
Roslyn was on the court, a good time was had by all, even those who lost! In fact, people would
often take time to watch her play - regardless of whether or not they had a stake in the game -
because she was that exquisite a player in both style and form.

The Volpe family owned several boats over the years, taking trips to the islands with friends and
cruising or waterskiing on the St. Johns River. Roslyn spent her childhood summers at the
Bullards' Keystone Heights lake house on Brooklyn Bay, where she learned to ski. Her children
learned to ski there, and they now enjoy water sports on the river with their children.
Weekends in recent years were spent at "The Cabin" in Adel, GA that Roslyn and Tim
purchased a few years ago. There they enjoyed the tranquility of being away from the city, along
with swimming, fishing, and sporting clays with family and friends who visited.

Roslyn was a Christian whose engaging smile and sense of humor welcomed all into her world.
She loved her family and friends fiercely, always had pets (dogs, potbelly pigs, ferrets), enjoyed
life to the fullest in spite of significant loss, and was generous beyond measure.

A memorial service for Roslyn will be held on Wednesday, August 21, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Johns
Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at Florida Yacht Club.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Jacksonville Humane
Society or American Kidney Fund.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Naugle Funeral Home and Cremation Services of
Jacksonville.
