Sidney Berk Rosenberg, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully on the evening of Saturday, June 28. His final moments were spent in the embrace of his family, who loved him dearly.
Sid was a native of Jacksonville, born June 25, 1946, to Willie and Sabina Rosenberg. He was the youngest of three siblings after brother Dick and sister Hariot.
Sid was a proud Landon Lion and stayed close with many of his fellow alumni. Following studies at Washington and Lee University in 1968, Sid spent many years in Atlanta, where he worked in commercial real estate and completed a Ph.D at Georgia State University. He spent the majority of his career teaching Real Estate and Finance for the University of North Florida, where he retired as Professor Emeritus in 2012.
Sid's lifelong love of travel took him to every corner of the globe and on every kind of adventure. He crossed the United States by motorcycle, camped under African night skies, lived, taught, and explored across Europe, sailed the Galapagos, climbed the Great Wall of China, and swam in the South Pacific. His wanderlust took him to over 100 countries, pushing him to explore everywhere and try everything.
Sid met the love of his life, Pauline, on a blind date set up by great friends, Nancy and Greg Rand. Together they spent 31 years laughing, traveling, loving one another, and raising their sons.
Sid is survived by his wife Pauline, his sons Matthew and Nick, his daughters-in-law Caroline and Josie, and his grandson James. They are continually inspired by Sid's humor, intelligence, kindness, curiosity, and bravery.
We love you forever, Sid.
