Victoria Robertson Butler

August 14, 1945 – February 19, 2026

Victoria Robertson Butler, 80, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2026.

Born on August 14, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul Norman Robertson, Sr. and the late Mary Granger Robertson. From an early age, she embodied a servant’s heart that would define the rest of her life.

Vicky is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Rodney R. Butler; her son, Marshall M. Butler (Karen), and granddaughters Emily and Maggie; her daughter, Betsy Dixon (Marshall); and her sister, Sandra Robertson Hart of Quitman, Georgia.

She began her professional life as a cosmetologist before partnering with her husband in operating Butler Cleaners. A gifted seamstress, Vicky personally handled alterations for the family business, often working late into the evening after preparing dinner for her family. Her hands were rarely still, and her work was marked by precision, care, and pride.

Her greatest investment, however, was always people.

For nearly 40 years, she faithfully served in the Senior High department at First Baptist Church, mentoring and loving generations of students. When her children were young, she was the perennial homeroom mom, always present, always helping, always serving. Later in life, she served through the Hadassah’s Hope mission, preparing meals in support of outreach to women seeking restoration from exploitation, sharing the hope and love of Jesus.

Vicky had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen and valued. She gave generously of her time, her talents, and her heart. Whether through a carefully stitched garment, a prepared meal, a word of encouragement, or steady presence, she left an imprint on everyone she encountered.

Her life was defined not by accolades, but by faithfulness. She loved deeply, served tirelessly, and created a home filled with warmth and welcome.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held at Ortega Church (4807 Roosevelt Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210) on March 17 at 11 AM as we gather to celebrate her life and the faith that guided it.

Cremation services are in the care of Naugle Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 1203 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
